Named after a hop storehouse on the grounds of St. James' Gate Brewery, Hop House 13 represents the symbiosis of tradition and modernity: a classic beer style with a modern twist. Even today, a wide variety of hops are stored at Hop House 13. This gave the young brewmasters at Guinness Open Gate Brewery the idea of brewing a double-hopped lager. Hop House 13 is a crisp lager with aromas of apricot and peach. The fruity notes go perfectly with the malty base for which the crystal malt used is responsible. It goes perfectly with light game dishes such as duck breast on young pak choi, aromatic dishes of Asian cuisine, short fried chicken with satay sauce or slightly acidic desserts.
